Vintage Coach Regina Bag, Bone Or White, #9983. Regina bag whose color is bone or white, one inner zip pocket, one slip pocket on back of bag, top handle with detachable strap, dog leash strap closures and attachments, turn lock, and other hardware are 100% pure nickel.8 at bottom length, 7 at top length. 3 1/4-3 1/4 in depth. I bought this Regina while employed at a Coach store and it has been somewhat mysterious since then. It was the only Regina my store ever received and I cannot put a color value to it, which is why the first three photos are shown on different backgrounds, and another background with the mannequin. The first two were taken in natural light through windows, the third during natural light and a chandelier on the dim setting (which I wanted to avoid because I think artificial lighting makes it look more white with grey shadows). It appears brighter to me. At the same time, it COULD be bone as it is generally accepted that the Regina was not produced in white either. This bag also has nickel hardware, which I have only seen recently on one other Regina that was Mahogany (mid to dark brown) and up for sale on another site. The first authentication was done by Coach professionals at their main office and distributor in Jacksonville, FL. (I also lived in and bought the bag in FL). It was unofficial and taken there by my district manager at the time because of it being so unusual. It is currently authenticated by the Coach expert for Purse Forum, which is available and whose opinion on the color is that it is bone. I feel this bag was probably done as a test by Coach to determine how the newly introduced nickel hardware would look on various colors, which would not have been uncommon during that time. I have never carried this bag, but it has been meticulously maintained by myself using only Coach moisturizing lotion, which in addition contains a light cleanser. The leather is soft and free of any wear or scratches and includes the corners, all piping, the bottom of the bag, the top handle and strap, and the rest of its body. It has no striations or uneven coloring and is one of the best examples of leather and lighter colored dyeing I have seen on any Coach bag, but especially for vintage. The nickel hardware is also free of any damage and has remained shiny and as new.
Everything on the bag is original and as I bought it. The bag and the space between the top handle have been stuffed with craft paper or tissue to retain their shape, and it has been stored in a dust bag (not included). On the front of the flap there is an indentation that is very noticeable and can be seen in the photos! There are three very obvious glue or other adhesive marks on the inside bottom of the bag, which is the only leather part of the lining (the rest is raw suede) that also show in the pics.
On the bottom of the outside of the bag there are two faint grey spots and what looks like a spill mark, but all are so light they are not seen in any photos Ive taken. There is another of the same type of grey spot on the piping of the flap. I have SEVERAL more important photos of this bag and ask that you please take a look at all of them if you are seriously thinking about purchasing it. I only treat others as I would like to be treated and I can only ask for the same in return.
